Last night, I watched a classic story from Doctor Who as part of the Tales of the TARDIS series on BBC iPlayer.
I watched "Vengeance on Varos" which featured Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and his companion Peri Brown.
The story first came out in 1985.
"The TARDIS makes an emergency landing on Varos, a planet that used to be a penal colony, and where the native Varosians are presently entertained by broadcasts of real violence and death. Mistaken for rebels, the Doctor and Peri learn that Sil, an evil delegate of the Galatron mining corporation, bids to rule Varos and to control supplies of Zeiton 7 ore, which is the TARDIS's only fuel source."
This two part story also features Sean's son Jason Connery as a rebel leader and also a British classic star in Martin Jarvis. This tory also features the first appearance of this series famous bad guy "Sil" played by Nabil Shaban. He would later return in "The Trial of a Timelord" storyline in the following series.
I highly enjoyed this story as it's been over 25 years since I last watched it.
I shall rate this story a score of 7/10.
