This afternoon, we watched "Spooky Night: The Spirit of Halloween" a family supernatural horror film on Prime Video.
Produced in partnership with the Spirit Halloween retailer, the film stars Christopher Lloyd and Rachael Leigh Cook.
"When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle school friends who think they've outgrown trick or treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves."
The movie has a couple of jump scares but it is a family style horror film in the style of Goosebumps.
The kid actors were alright and did their best but I'm glad they were not your typical "Disney" bred actors that a lot of movies do these days.
The special effects and animatronics were decent enough and the story was good, but there was something missing from this film.
I enjoyed it and I shall rate this film a score of 6/10.
