This afternoon, in preparation for the new episode of Doctor Who and the connecting villain between the two stories, we watched this 4-part story on BBC iPlayer.
This story dates back to the year of my birth, 1975 and it stars the 4th Doctor Tom Baker and his companion Sarah Jane Smith.
"The Timelord and Sarah Jane arrive on Earth after being drawn off course and instead of present day UNIT HQ, they arrive at the same location but back in the year of 1911.
They find themselves in a room filled with Egyptian artifacts in a house owned by Egyptologist Marcus Scarman. They rescue Marcus' colleague, Dr. Warlock, who was shot by Marcus' servant Ibrahim Namin, a fanatical believer in the impending return of the his god, Lord Sutekh.
The Doctor must stop the evil god from destroying Earth and the rest of the universe."
This is the first time I've seen this story and it's excellent.
Yes, the special effects and acting was of a time period where you did not get a great budget, but it's still good for '75.
This bit contains spoilers for the latest episode starring the 15th Doctor. -
It marks the first appearance of Sutekh, who was reintroduced to the series in "The Legend of Ruby Sunday" (2024), facing off against the Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa).
Sutekh = Susan Traid = Susan Traid Tech = Sutekh.
