Professor What is an envoy from the Planet Academia, a world of intellectuals, sent to Earth to help it progress into a galaxy class civilization...or at least that's his story.
In reality he was actually banished from Academia for a crime he didn't commit.
Once he was a member of the Professors W5, alongside Professor Who, Professor Where, Professor When and Professor Why. Despite being among the most intelligent of his planet and having a higher IQ than anyone on Earth, he is actually quite incompetent, and mostly saves the day completely on accident and pretends like he did it on purpose. He flies around in his Spaceship which looks like a recycling bin and is bigger on the inside.
