I rented it from Prime Video for £4.49, which was a Mini-Christmas present for myself.
Now, I use to love these movies as I loved all the action stars in them, until I watched this movie.
OMG! What a pile of rubbish this film was!
Jason Statham as Lee Christmas was the main star of this film, which I do not mind as I love this guy, but the rest of the cast were side lined so much that you hardly saw them, and neither did they do much.
Sylvester Stallone was side lined as well but his character did get killed near the beginning, or did he?
Now on to the other problems with this movie -
Megan Fox, Jason Statham's girlfriend and fellow expendable was utter useless as she paraded around with a gun and a full face of slapped up make up as she screeched like a harpy! She could not shoot or act for toffee.
Andy Garcia was their CIA contact and mission control and also the main bad guy who acted OTT throughout the film.
Iko Uwais was just a henchman instead of the bad guy that he was suppose to be.
The plot and storyline, the action sequences, Stallone's limited screen time, The direction, absence of most of the original cast in the film, and the very bad green screen visual effects were all utter terrible and god damn rubbish! Even the movie length was short at 1hr40mins.
It only grossed $51 million worldwide against a budget of $100 million which made it a box office bomb. So i highly doubt we will ever get an Expendables 5, unless they really do something major and bring back most of the original cast and write a better story.
I shall sadly rate this film a score of 5/10. It's a shame really.
