Last night, I re-watched this Pulp era superhero movie on Paramount+
It stars the great Billy Zane as The Phantom, The late and great Treat Williams as the villain Xander Dax, Kristy Swanson as the love interest Diana Palmer, Catherine Zeta-Jones as the villain pilot Sala, James Remar as the villain Quill, and Patrick McGoohan as Kit's ghostly father who was the 20th Phantom.
The story was really good and exciting, the special effects were not bad, and the humour was very tongue in cheek which helped the movie. How could you not laugh at a white guy who lives in the jungle wearing purple leotards and has a native boy servant. It was supposed to be funny, and I don't think some people got that at the time of release.
I loved this movie, like I loved the other two pulp hero movies of the same decade - The Rocketeer, and The Shadow.
I will rate this awesome film a score of 9/10.
