A.X.L.

This afternoon, we watched this really good science fiction adventure film on Netflix.
I have been waiting to see this film since watching the trailer years ago, and it was well worth the wait.
The story is about a young lad who befriends a robotic military dog and repairs him after he was attacked by fellow soldiers and the two of them and the young lad's love interest go on the run and are hunted down by the U.S. Military. The dog shaped robot is code-named A-X-L ("Attack, eXploration, Logistics"), The special effects were decent, I think a cross between motion capture and CGI.
The actors were quite good in their roles and I have never seen them in anything before, the only actor I know in this film is Thomas Jane who plays the lad's father.
The story was well written and at times I expected AXL to shout out "No Disassemble AXL." lol
It seemed it was going to be set up for them to do a sequel but it did not do well at the box office for a number of reasons, but it is a good film to watch, and considering that A.I. is trending in the news of late, we could be seeing what the Military companies are capable of creating in warzones.
I shall rate this movie a score of 8/10.
