Last night, I watched "The Abyss" a 2023 Swedish disaster film on Netflix. The Original title is "Avgrunden"
"Frigga, who tries to balance her risky job as a security manager in the Kiirunavaara mine with her family life, has to fight for her life and the lives of her loved ones when her city starts collapsing into the mine."
This film is inspired by real events that actually happened in May 2020 in the town of Kiruna, Sweden.
The town of Kiruna is home to the world’s largest underground iron ore mine — and the mining operations that’ve been happening there since the late 1800s have made the ground unstable. Kiruna is indeed being slowly demolished and rebuilt two miles away to save the town and its inhabitants. The relocation project, which began around 2004, is set to complete in 2035.
This was an alright movie to watch and there was plenty of deaths among the cast, which was cool. They were not afraid of killing of the kids either!
I do not know any of the cast members but they all did a good job in their roles.
I enjoyed it and it passed the time away last night.
I shall rate this film a score of 7/10.
