SUBURBAN GOTHIC

This afternoon, we watched this horror comedy film on Freevee.

"Raymond has a prestigious MBA, but he can't find work. He can channel the paranormal, but chatting with a cute girl mystifies him. Kicked out of his big city apartment, Raymond returns home to his overbearing mother, ex-jock father, and beer-bellied classmates. But when a vengeful ghost terrorizes the small town, the city-boy recruits Becca, a badass local bartender, to solve the mystery of the spirit threatening everyone's lives."
The film had a great cast list, we've got Matthew Gubler as the lead character, and Kat Dennings as his sidekick. Plus the always great Ray Wise, Barbara Niven, Muse Watson, Jeffrey Combs among many others.
The cast and the premise were the reasons why I wanted to watch it as I had never heard of this film before. But, unfortunately I was expecting something quality like "Odd Thomas" but I ended up with a damp squib of a movie.
This was really boring and not so special in the effects or story.
Ray Wise was still very entertaining as was the rest of the cast, but the story was cheap and very much lacking.
This was not scary nor was it laugh out loud funny, yes there was some funny moments but that's it.
I was disappointed but check it out, you might like it and have a better 1hr30mins then I did.
I shall rate this film a score of 5/10.
