This afternoon, we watched Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scargiver on Netflix.
"Kora returns to Veldt with the farmer Gunnar and the warriors Titus, Nemesis, Darrian Bloodaxe and Tarak. Titus commands the defence of the farmers and asks them to harvest the grains and use them to protect their homes. While waiting for Atticus Noble and his men, they disclose their pasts waiting for the showdown with the mother world's force."
This film follows directly after the end of the fist movie, and the surviving warriors team up with the farmers and train them on how to fight and defend their home against the evil Imperium.
I was really looking forward to watching the first film but was greatly disappointed by it and this one, it has taken me a month to get round to waste two hours of my time to watch it. and my god it was boring and the film was littered with a lot of uncalled for slow motion scenes and staring into the distance!
We got to have some flashback scenes of the backgrounds of the characters and their reasons on why they want to fight the evil Empire and that included a lot of slow motion scenes too!
The action scenes were good, and I was surprised by the whole reason why the evil empire is invading this moon, and that's because they want the farmer's grain! That's right, their grain for wheat! Sheesh! And then the bad guy's dreadnought ship is revealed to be powered by Coal! COAL! WTF! is going on here?
Their technology is crossed between coal powered technology tanks, ships, and future tech spaceships that can fire a lot of pew pews! It was funny but I don't think it was supposed to be.
Only two of the warriors died in this, and one of them was a stupid death. And don't get me started on Jimmy the Mechanical Knight voiced by Anthony Hopkins, a great warrior and guardian that only appeared and fought back against the empire's forces in the last 30 minutes.
The film does end with a possible set-up for a sequel as they need to search for a missing princess and to save the universe from the evil empire!
Sigh...this film was a slog and it's a bloody shame as it had a lot of protentional but alas, it was not that brilliant.
I will not be rewatching the two Rebel Moon films again.
The movie does have a great cast list but not a brilliant film that is very forgettable.
I shall rate this film a score of 6/10.
