THE THREE DOCTORS

Last night, BBC iPlayer has added over 800 classic episodes of Doctor Who, many of them that I've never seen before.
So last night, I decided to watch the 10th Anniversary story from 1973 titled "The Three Doctors" starring the first three incarnations of the famous Timelord - John Pertwee, Patrick Troughton, and William Hartnell.
Hartnell only has a cameo in this story as he was ill at the time, so he did all his scenes in a studio and appeared on a TV monitor inside the TARDIS to guide and offer advice to the other two "replacements"
Pertwee with his assistant Jo Grant and Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, and Sergeant Benton from U.N.I.T. must deal with an alien incursion from the anti-matter universe and the infamous Timelord villain Omega. But it's too much for the Doctor to handle on his own, so he is also assisted by his former self The Second Doctor played by Troughton.
The story is in four parts and it was not that bad, the special effects were cheesy to today's standards but back in '72, I suppose it was nearly cutting edge with the budget they were given.
The acting was OTT and hammy which was to be expected and it was funny.
I am glad that I will get to watch all the old episodes of Who, as I only started watching the series when Peter Davison took over the show in 1982.
Anyway, I shall rate this story a 7/10 for nostalgia reasons only.
