Last night, I watched this New Zealand creature feature horror movie on Shudder.
In 1978, a young family mysteriously inherits an abandoned coastal property, The male lead accidentally unleashes a number of ancient, long-dormant creatures from an old water tank that terrorised the entire region-including his own ancestors-for generations.
The film does start off a bit slow but it is setting up the background mystery and the main characters, but with the third act, you get to see the creatures in their full beauty, which are made with practical effects.
There is a lot of action in the end part of the film which reminds me of Ripley from Aliens (You will know what I mean when you watch it) Plus for you blood and guts fans, there is aplenty!
Stay watching until after the mid credits as there is a nice sequence added to the end.
I did not know any of the cast, but they did a good job in their roles.
I shall rate this horror a score of 8/10.
