Skinfaxi (Bright Mane) and Hrímfaxi (Ice Mane) are two magic horses that we find in the myth of the Nordic creation. After the gods created the world, they placed the sun and the moon in the sky, thus creating day and night. Odin then ordered that Nott (a night) a beautiful giantess, rode with her horse Hrímfaxi pulling in her carriage the moon, while her son Dag (day) with his horse Skinfaxi, would be responsible for pulling the sun with him. In addition, Nott and Dag are pursued by the sons of Fenrir: Hati and Skoll.
