WE DANCE WITH OUR MAYPOLES

I think I was there as part of the student group from Meadfurlong School from Fishermead, Milton Keynes.

"To celebrate International Day of Dance we offer you this Morris team shaking a tailfeather and jingling their bells at the Great Linford Folk Festival, 1982."

YAKAMOZ S-245

Last night I finished watching this apocalyptic sci-fi series on Netflix.
This is a Turkish companion series to the first two seasons of the Belgian series "Into The Night"
It was very good and well acted, the dubbing was alright which I did not mind, It also expanded on the disaster that has befallen the Earth, first seen in the original series.
I shall rate this series a score of 9/10 and I am hoping the next season shall unite both crews of the two shows as they fight for their survival.

PHINEAS AND FERB: CANDACE AGAINST THE UNIVERSE

Yesterday I watched the animated movie of Phineas and Ferb: Candace Against the Universe on Disney+

Once raised, Ymir remained asleep for several ages, during which his sweat had spawned countless giants, as well as other evil creatures.

SKINFAXI

Skinfaxi (Bright Mane) and Hrímfaxi (Ice Mane) are two magic horses that we find in the myth of the Nordic creation. After the gods created the world, they placed the sun and the moon in the sky, thus creating day and night. Odin then ordered that Nott (a night) a beautiful giantess, rode with her horse Hrímfaxi pulling in her carriage the moon, while her son Dag (day) with his horse Skinfaxi, would be responsible for pulling the sun with him. In addition, Nott and Dag are pursued by the sons of Fenrir: Hati and Skoll.

SLEIPNIR

In Norse mythology, Sleipnir is the magic mount of Odin. The legendary eight-legged steed is the fastest being among the planes. The birth of Sleipnir Thor, the Giant Slayer, was far from Asgard killing giants in the north, when an ice giant, disguised as a human mason, offered to rebuild the wall around Asgard in exchange for the sun, the moon, and the goddess Freya. The gods accepted, thinking it would be a good deal, since part of the wall was already falling apart. In addition, the giant would need to complete its work in just six months, as Thor would return by the end of this term and kill him. The giant asked only one question: whether he could use his gray stallion, Svadilfari (translating, "slave", or possibly "doomed"). Loki quickly accepted the agreement, before any other god could object. Using the stallion, the giant began building the wall, and would receive the sun, the moon and Freya. The gods, seeing this, were furious with Loki, and said that if they lost, they would torture him eternally (which happened in another way). Then, while Svadilfari was carrying the last brick to complete the wall, Loki turned into a beautiful white mare, and drew the stallion away, annoying the giant, who began to destroy the wall of such rage. Thus, while destroying the wall, Thor appeared and crushed the giant with his hammer Mjolnir. Loki later gave birth to Sleipnir, Odin's mount, who is a descendant of the gray stallion Svadilfari and Loki while "he" was a beautiful white mare.

An interesting part of the tale says that Pesta arrived in the Norwegian lands through a ghost ship stabbed by rats, and that his sailors carried their curse. While Pesta, his travels and his curse are not literal, we can imagine it as the representation of the bacteria we know today (Yersinia pestis), its mode of propagation and its symptoms.

If the man attracted to a Huldra is able to satisfy his sexual needs, he will leave him alive and even bless him with his power. However, if the man can not satisfy her, she will kill him. Finfolk regularly visit the surface to capture humans, be they adults or even children, and force them into a long life of servitude as a husband or wife. To attract their victims, the Finfolk often disguise themselves as other marine animals, plants or even floating clothing. However, Finfolk females prefer to appear as women of incredible beauty, with straight and golden hair and ivory skin, and sometimes even show their tails. DIABOLICAL

This afternoon I finished watching The Boys Presents: Diabolical which is an adult animated superhero anthology series on Amazon.
It was very funny and sweet in parts and very gory in the best way possible.
I shall rate this series a score of 9/10.

WHAT DAY IS IT?

SUPERMAN VS. THE ELITE

Last night I watched the animated movie Superman Vs. The Elite.
I use to own the DVD but it was a bad copy and I could not get another copy, so I've rented this from Amazon instead.
It was alright, but the voice actors did not work with the characters and the portrayal of the Northern city of Manchester was quite laughable.
The characters of The Elite were interesting but they were a wish version of the Wildstorm group The Authority.
I shall rate this animated film a score of 6/10.
It's good but not one of the better DC animated movies they they have produced.

F.I.S.T. PHONE CALLS

"Anyone remember FF’s foray into The 0898 market? Basically involves a long call and a big phone bill to complete your adventure."

I use to sneak downstairs to ring this game up and I use to get shouted at and receive a beating from my parents for "stealing" money from them for playing this game on the phone.

EIGHT LEGGED FREAKS

To cheer myself up this afternoon, I watched this classic and awesome monster horror comedy film.
I last watched this 20 years ago when it first came out at the cinema.
Very cheesy and funny, the giant spiders were awesome.
I will rate this classic a score of 10/10.
