USS INDIANAPOLIS: MEN OF COURAGE

Last night, I watched this American War Disaster film that is loosely based on true events in 1945.

I am a huge fan of Nicolas Cage and I'm trying to watch every movie he has been in, and I'm already half way through his back catalogue of movies.
Anyway, I do normally like war movies but this film, directed by Mario Van Peebles was a load of shit!
The acting was terribly OTT by everyone, including my main man Cage. I think they were told to act that bad as you had some decent actors in the cast, but it was laughable and boring as hell.
The ship is sunk by a Japanese Submarine and the remaining crew are trying to survive in shark infested waters, and I be honest, I was on the side of the killer sharks as the crew were annoying as fuck and I cheered when each one got killed and eaten by them.
Not all of them died, which was a shame, but the aftermath was disgusting as the Captain played by Cage is court-martialled by his superiors as his bosses screwed up the military operation and they needed a scapegoat.
This is based on a true story and in the end, the Captain takes his own life due to mental health problems, and it takes until the year 2000, for President Clinton to exonerate Captain McVay of all charges.
Anyway, like I said, it was a shit movie and it did bomb at the box office.
I shall rate this film a score of 5/10.
