This morning, I finished watching season one of this French mystery crime series on Netflix.
"Inspired by the adventures of Arsène Lupin, gentleman thief Assane Diop (Omar Sy) sets out to avenge his father's death for an injustice inflicted by a wealthy family."
Arsène Lupin is a character created by French novelist and short story writer, Maurice Leblanc, in 1905, and this series is not about him, but a character who is a huge fan of the books and a thief himself.
The series is brilliantly dubbed which I'm glad about as I don't mind dubbed shows as well as subtitled ones too.
I am very intrigued by Arsène Lupin and I might check out Amazon to see if I can get any of the books to read.
Omar Sy does a brilliant job as Assange Diop as he plans each step in getting his revenge for his father's death.
The scenery of Paris and surrounding areas are stunning but I was shocked about the huge amount of racism against French Black people.
I will rate this first season (which does end on a cliffhanger) a score of 9/10. At the moment there are three parts/chapters of the series so far.
It's well worth a watch.
