ANCIENT MOSAIC FLOOR IN THE HOUSE OF THESEUS

It was built on the ancient ruins of older Hellenistic and Roman period buildings. The most ancient mosaic is dated to the end of the 3rd century and displays Theseus fighting with the Minotaur in the Labyrinth of Crete, House of Theseus.
This mosaic shows the alternations made to it possibly due to earthquakes during the middle of the 4th century.
