THE TROUBLE WITH AI ART ON ALPHA FLIGHT

 Good afternoon, my fellow Alphans, I don’t want to lecture you all as most of you are brilliant here, but I want this group to be a safe space for fans of Alpha Flight and recently the ugly head of AI Art bashing has raised yet again, despite that AI art is allowed on this “Fan Group.”

On the General Rules of this Group that I wrote, please take heed of Rule #4 - Be Respectable and Kind to Others, Rule #5 – Do Not Block the Admins, and Rule #9 – Art (Pictures from other websites, your own designed pictures, and even A.I. Art is allowed on here.)

You have all read them, Right?

AI art is not going anywhere, it’s out there on the internet right now. Every artist that has ever posted their artwork has contributed to the AI "problem." And it becomes part of this vast matrix of art swirling around the cloud and is being used in AI programs, it will be used and reused until the end of the internet.

Any new big thing comes along, people will get their pitchforks out and want to burn things down! I remember when Image comics first came out and everybody with a pen or pencil started to copy the art styles of Liefeld, McFarlane, and Lee, among others. Rob Liefeld encouraged his fanbase to copy his style so they too could break into the comicbook world as a lot of people got jobs from copying his style.

I personally have no problems with AI art as I can’t draw for toffee, so using for example, Bing AI art program, it helps me in visualizing my characters for my stories that I write.

AI art is not stealing your jobs or money, it’s the people who created the program that are in the wrong, but some people are in legal procedures to get ownership of their art.

Many people, like myself cannot draw, but they have great ideas that they want to share for themselves and their fellow friends on this group, so let them enjoy posting an AI art of Sasquatch wearing a pink tutu if he so wishes. It's Fun!

You cannot stem the tide of this new technology; you can complain and throw a tantrum and threaten me that you will leave this group or else! Then go right ahead, I don’t want to lose you as a member, but I do not negotiate with people who swear at me, being rude to me, let alone, the members of this group.

Here is a solution for you, if you consider this, if you don’t like the AI art post, then scroll past it and ignore it as the adult you are supposed to be, do not attack the poster, and do not attack me!

This group is for sharing, for appreciation, and inspiration.

Remember to be good to each other, as this world has far too many problems to squabble over something as inane as A.I. art.
