The Cucuteni-Trypillian culture consisted of an ancient people that thrived from 5400 to 2700 BC, in Eastern Europe, particularly in modern day Ukraine. They inhabited the largest settlements in neolithic Europe, some housing up to 10,000 inhabitants, showcasing their advanced agricultural practices and intricate pottery. They also built the first known two-story houses in all Europe, which they would, for unknown reasons, burn every 60-80 years. Despite their significant achievements, the Cucuteni-Trypillian culture vanished mysteriously around 2700 BC, leaving behind a legacy that continues to captivate researchers and spark curiosity about their origins, social structures, and eventual demise.
