THE WILD BEYOND

A brief explanation: I am currently DM-ing a Dungeons & Dragons module called The Wild Beyond the Witchlight. In it, the player characters are pulled into a fey realm which is heavily fairy tale inspired. My players are in a rotting swamp, and they're about to meet The Soggy Court, a socitety of human-sized anthropomorphic frogs who "have an overdeveloped sense of grandeur, are preoccupied with pomp and courtesies, and possess an insatiable lust for courtly intrigue". Picture the court of Henry VIII, but they're all frogs living in some old ruins that are slowly sinking into the swamp.
As written in the book, the current monarch (there's a new one every two weeks or so) will invite the player characters to join the court, and insists they "be fitted with the proper attire". However, the book never mentions said proper attire again, which I think is a huge missed opportunity! Why even have a court of fashion-obsessed frogs, if not to force my poor players in mouldy, mildewed, riddiculous finery?
And this is where you come in! I need suggestions for ostentatious yet shabby and/or gross clothing items that I can subject my players to. The kind that would be the height of fashion in a swampy shanty town turned royal court populated by frog people. The picture below is an official illustration, to give you an idea of what we're working with. Also, yes, they keep crocodiles as pets, because of course they do 😆 Any and all suggestions are much appreciated, the sillier the better! 🥰
