In the Tianmen Mountains of China is the highest naturally formed arch in the World. Know as the Tianmen Cave, it is also called the Gateway to Heaven. It was formed in the year 263CE when one side of the mountain’s cliff collapsed and created an arch 430ft tall and 190ft wide. Today you can take a bus to the base of the arch or a cable car. But once there to reach the Gateway to Heaven will require climbing 999 steps. The Chinese believe the arch is a portal to heaven and a holy site.
