HAUNTS OF SPECTRES

Whistness = The Spirit of Depression and Sadness.
A Whist Place = Haunted, Strange.
Whist Hounds = The Hounds of Hell.

It is said of Wistman's Wood on Dartmoor that 'Wishtness Walketh There'. It is one of the haunts of spectres.
