The twin Buddhist temples sitting on top of Mount Fanjingshan (2,570 m/8,430 ft), China emerging from thick fog.
Fanjingshan is a sacred mountain in Chinese Buddhism, considered to be the Maitreya Buddha's bodhimaṇḍa, or “place of enlightenment.” Temples were built along the mountain as far back as the 7th century BCE when the Zangke Road was constructed.
