It is based on the real borehole in Russia, which is the deepest hole and research complex in the whole world.
The film itself is not that bad, and te acting is quite good. The scares are signposted and the one scene that made me jump was in the trailer, so I knew what to expect.
They tried to make an American version of this film but it was not that good.
I shall rate this flick a score of 6/10.
