THE COBBLER

Last night, I watched this Fantasy Drama on Prime.

"Max Simkin repairs shoes in the same New York shop that has been in his family for generations. Disenchanted with the grind of daily life, Max stumbles upon a magical heirloom that allows him to step into the lives of his customers and see the world in a new way. Sometimes walking in another man's shoes is the only way one can discover who they really are."
I had not heard of this movie before last night, and I'm a fan of Adam Sandler's movies so this film was a pleasant surprise.
This film does drag on a bit and it does have quite a few slow moments throughout but when the main story comes into focus, the film gets better with some real nice twists to the story.
Sandler does his very best at not being funny in this flick and it's more of a drama then a comedy.
The mythology behind the Cobbler's magical shoe stitcher machine was very interesting as was the fabled society of Tradesmen that was revealed at the end of the film.
The character of Max does learn that with great power does come with great responsibility.
I have seen better Sandler films and this is not that bad but not that great either.
I shall rate this film a score of 6/10.
