3 BODY PROBLEM

Last night, I stayed up late to finish watching this sci-fi drama series on Netflix.

This is very loosely based on the Chinese book of the same name by Liu Cixin and the Chinese TV series from last year.
There are a lot of elements in this British-American production which has been changed from the original source material.
"A fateful decision made in 1960s China's Cultural Revolution, a disillusioned astrophysicist sends a radio signal into the vastness of outer space to establish contact with aliens. An alien civilization on the brink of destruction captures the signal and plans to invade Earth. As we reverberates in the present, where a group of scientists partner with a detective to confront an existential planetary threat, as others are planning to either welcome the superior beings and help them take over a world seen as corrupt, or to fight against the invasion."
This is a very cerebral science fiction drama with hardly any action scenes and a lot of talking between the characters.
The series does not wrap everything up in the final episode, so I assume they will make a second series.
The actors did an okay job in their roles but the only two characters that stood out for me was Liam Cunningham (Wade) and Benedict Wong (Clarence) as the others were not really likable, none of the scientists were really nice people to actually feel for in the respective storylines.
The science behind some of this was interesting and as I'm not a scientist myself, I cannot say if it's sound or not.
I did like the fact that the Aliens won't get to Earth for another 400 years due to their technological limits.
I did really like this show and I shall rate this show a score of 8/10.
