THE LIGHTS THAT MOVE

Sometimes in the night sky, you might see lights that move.
Almost always these are planes or drones or the beams of lights on the ground or ball lightning or floating lanterns sent up by idiots. Sometimes though, they are none of these things. The lights drift through the sky, and the birds that fly at night are drawn to the light and snip snap snip that’s it for the birds.
The things that shine the light took a balloonist, once. Spat out the basket.
