Hern Toughstone aka The Green Mother
Hern grew up deep in a cold mountain that had only a handful of lookout posts above ground. Because of this Fungal Gardens were vital to her people's survival.
Hern was soon singled out for her amazing growing skills. It was almost as though the young dwarf could speak to the mushrooms and lichen. It wasn't long until her budding druidic powers became evident and all before her 30th birthday.
For the next hundred years she grew in power and influence, eventually leading an above ground settlement. She has turned a small Dwarven military encampment into a verdant paradise nestled in a mountain valley.
She runs the town with a gentle and caring hand. She tends to plants and people with the same desire to see them grow and flourish. Because of her aura and the rules she has put in place, her lands have thrived and the environment provides as well as shelters and defends the dwarves living there.
She can normally be found wandering the surrounding area cultivating rare flora and fauna as well as making sure that no threats lurk in the dense foliage she has created.
