A COUPLE OF CHARACTER SPOILERS AHEAD BUT DON'T WORRY!
Well, I have just watched Jodie Whittaker's last ever adventure as The Doctor in the special "The Power of the Doctor."
I will let you all know now, but I have never been a fan of her version of the Timelord as she is one terrible actress, the companions were rubbish (apart from Bradley Walsh's Graham), and the direction and writing were abysmal.
I thought Yaz was a one trick pony with no personality and no growth in character, and as for Dan, he was completely useless, and he was wasted. He was just a gurning idiot put in the series to have an older man be the funny one!
Now on to this special, I actually really enjoyed it!
And that was down to two special ladies being in the show - classic companions - Ace and Tegan. They actually were the saving grace for this story, which was all over the place as yet again, the writing was rubbish as was one of the bad guys - The Master played with OTT style by Sacha Dhawan, one of the worst actors to have portrayed this character.
It was lovely to see the appearances from the 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Doctors in this and to see 5 and 7 interact with Tegan and Ace.
It was also nice to see the old companions of Jo Grant, Mel Bush, and Ian Chesterton. It might have only been a cameo, but it was sweet.
And now on to Doctor No. 14, played by the returning David Tennant. I am glad to see him again and his stories next year will be interesting, and I do have a few theories of my own on how this will combine with the 15th Doctor.
Anyway, I will rate this story a score of 8/10 and that is down to Ace and Tegan. I am really glad that Jodie has now left, and I am hoping that RTD will bring this series back to its glory days with decent writing and acting.
