Last night, I watched these two cult classic action films on Amazon Prime.
It is loosely based on the 2010 AC Transit Bus fight viral video.
Bad Ass (2012) and Bad Ass 2: Bad Asses (2014).
They both star Danny Trejo as Frank "Bad Ass" Vega, a former Vietnam Veteran who protects a man on a bus and beats up two skinheads who were harassing the man, he is filmed, and the video is posted on YouView and becomes an urban hero for the people.
Charles S. Dutton and Ron Pearlman were the bad guys in the first film, as Danny Trejo must find the people who murdered his friend.
The second movie also stars Danny Glover as Danny's grumpy sidekick. They must hunt down the killers of a young boy who was Danny's surrogate son, and they must also stop drugs being put on their streets by the bad guy played by Andrew Divoff.
Both movies are tongue in cheek, cheesy action flicks with a lot of charm and OTT action scenes and violence.
Two Grumpy Senior Citizens who are getting too old for this shit.
I will rate both films a score of 9/10.
Just put your brain in neutral and enjoy these two films. I will be watching the third film tonight Bad Ass 3: Bad Asses on the Bayou.
