King Alfred's Tower (also known as The Folly of King Alfred the Great) was built in 1772 on the Stourhead estate in Wiltshire, Great Britain.

Last night I watched an utter crapfest of a sci-fi movie on Amazon Prime.
It was very low budget and the aliens were something out of a 70's Doctor Who episode, it was that bad!
It starred Richard Grieco and it had a 1-min cameo from Tara Reid!
I shall score this movie a rating of 1/10.

GUARDIANS
Last Night, I watched this epic Russian super-hero movie on Amazon Prime.
It was Awesome!
Good writing, special effects, characters and super powers.
I would like to see a sequel but i don't think it will happen, which is a shame.
I would watch this film again.
I shall rate this movie a score of 9/10.

BLUE PETER SAD :(
Whatever happened to such great shows like Blue Peter and Newsround?
The presenters never talked down to the kids, always as equals.
It was a badge of honour to be a Blue Peter Presenter. You always learned new things and shown how to make anything from Tracey Island to a Radio.
You use to get into certain places if you had a Blue Peter badge, like museums, etc.
And as for Newsround, John Craven always told the viewers the truth, he never sugarcoated the news. But now the presenters from this show and Blue Peter always talk down to the viewers and act with a low-intelligence.
I remember when you had a Blue Peter presenter rode across the Atlantic in a solo boating event, or climb mountains, etc.
Children's TV has been dumbed down for this generation.
It's a sad state of affairs.

COLD PURSUIT
Last Night I watched another Liam Neesom movie on Amazon Prime. It's a low budget black comedy action flick with a very large cast of characters and the story is very weird and odd.
It reminds me of the movie Fargo, which I did not like..

OUT OF TIME
Last Night I also watched this sci-fi movie on Amazon Prime.
It was a very low budget film, with bad acting and dodgy dialogue, but the writing and story was very good.
Neat concept and it would have been better if it had a decent budget behind the production.

THOMAS THE GHOST CAT
We use to live in a very old building (100+ years old) that had been converted into 2 flats. and 11 years ago today, we had our resident Ghost Cat visit us again. A ginger tabby named Thomas.
He even manifested himself in front of me once and made me jump.

ICE ROAD
I watched this very average disaster thriller starring Liam Neeson last night on Amazon Prime.
It was so boring and Liam played a very unlikable trucker.
To be honest, I would have enjoyed watching the series Ice Road Truckers instead.
I shall rate this cold flick a score of 4/10.

"Never Open An Umbrella Indoors"
In the Chinese culture, it is believed that an umbrella, no matter what kind, offers shade for spirits to hide under the sun during the day. And when we carry our umbrella home and close our umbrella, the spirit is trapped; however, if it is opened inside an indoor area, the spirit; (having successfully transported by you); can now haunt that place.
Spirits and umbrellas have many connections within many different ghost stories. One of the most famous examples is:
"A Chinese Ghost Story"; Where a scholar meets a girl ghost and fell in love; it is later discovered that the girl ghost was meant to bring the scholar's soul to be taken by the ancient Black Mountain Demon as a way to keep the demon looking young. They met under a rainny night, and you guessed it, under the umbrella.
In the movie: "Rigor Mortis"; The underworld enforcers were looking for a lost spirit in an apartment building, and when they appear; mortals are supposed to look away and not get in their way, lest if you want to be taken also. In the movie, they carried umbrellas to avoid earthly lights.

X-RAY
This is the X-Ray of my left stump, that was taken today.
It does show a large amount of flesh that goes beyond my left femur.
This is what has been hurting me and twisting outward when it should not have done.
I might or might not need another operation to remove more of my stump? Hopefully not but it's down to the Doctors.

I watched this travesty of a so-called superhero movie last night on Disney+
Oh my days! it was utter crap!

They introduced ASL to 5000BC Mesopotamia!
and one of the characters created the H-Bomb!
The characters, special effects, and storyline was rubbish and the movie was too long.
The only decent thing about the movie was the mid-credits scenes, with Pip the Troll and Starfox making their first MCU appearances.
I shall rate this film a score of 5/10.

DOLITTLE
I watched this new adaption of Dolittle last night on Amazon Prime.
It was rather good, a jolly family fun movie.
The acting from the live actors and the voice cast was good.
The special effects were really good as well as was the storyline.
Robert Downey .Jr does a very good Welsh accent as John Dolittle.
I would watch this film again and I shall rate this movie a score of 9/10.

THE PROTECTORS
The Protectors was an amazing short lived series from Malibu Comics that I collected as back issues in the mid 90's.
At this point, I had never heard of PD Characters, but I loved the Golden Age feel to the characters and artwork.
I was gutted when the series ended, but what an End!
Now that is how you finish a comic book series.
After this, I fell in love with the Ultraverse series of books until the crossover with Marvel.
I should still have all 20 issues inc the Handbook for this series.
What are your thoughts on this great series?

I watched this wannabe "Twister" style film on Amazon Prime last night.
It had a large cast of characters and not a single person died in the tornado attack. Very disappointing!

THE VAST OF NIGHT
I watched this low budget sci-fi thriller on Amazon Prime last night.
It's styled as an old Twilight Zone episode and is set during the Red Scare in the mid-50's Middle America.
It's okay, the acting and writing is very good, but there's no action or anything special in the effects department.
Stay with it as it's a slow burner at first and it does deserve the awards it won.
I shall only score this film a rating of 5/10.

QUEEN OF THE WINTER
Beira, Queen of the Winter tasked one of her maids Nessa with looking after a well that needed to be covered if not in sunlight. One day Nessa was late in returning and the well had overflowed flooding the valley and creating Loch Ness.
Beira, was furious and cursed Nessa, turning her into what is known today as the River Ness. She returns once a year on the anniversary of her transformation to sing a sad sweet song in a voice that is clearer and more melodious than any bird. She is accompanied by the beautiful music of golden harps and pipes more melodious than that of fairyland.

POOKA
The pooka (or púca) are shape-changers that are some of the most feared creatures in Irish mythology and folklore. According to Irish stories, they were said to bring either good or bad fortune to those who saw them and were particularly feared around times of harvest.
They often frequented the form of a wild dog, with red sulphurous eyes, but could also take the form of a goblin or human with animal features. According to Celtic mythology, they are often written as evil and bloodthirsty.
Still, there are also tales of them warning humans of accidents or being harnessed as protection.

CAT CHAT
There is a Japanese legend who talks about a method to find cats that have left the house and never come back.
The technique is to talk to the street cats in the neighborhood as if you would talk to anyone and ask them about your cat, describe it and it is, their hair tone, even tell th what it's called, ask them to help you find it, tell him how much you love him and how much you want him to come home.
They will communicate with each other to help your cat return home ❤

THE MANDALORIAN SEASONS 1 & 2
The last several evenings, I've been binge watching "The Mandalorian" to cheer myself up, and I've just finished season 2.
OMG! It has been awesome!
This is what Star Wars should be all about, and every character,/actor have been really good. The writing has been top notch, so I don't understand where they went wrong with "The Book of Boba Fett"?
The character of Baby Yoda is indeed cute and I can see the appeal of him. He does remind me of a friend's son. lol
The series is full of blaster action galore.
Plus the Luke Skywalker/R2-D2 cameo at the end, and the glory of the dark sabre!
I will rate this series a score of 10/10 and I can't wait for season 3.
