I am a huge fan of Idris Elba who plays the disgraced police officer DCI John Luther, continuing his character on from the end of the last TV series on BBC One back in 2019.
I've been a fan of Idris since watching him in the vampire series "Ultraviolet" on Channel 4 back in 1998.
Anyway, if you're a fan of Luther, then you will love this, it's not as great as the series was, but it never will be. Andy Serkis as the bad guy was very creepy as Serkis is very good at acting in those roles.
They did retcon a few things from how the series ended, but I don't mind that as it needed it for the new audiences.
I really liked the film and I hope that somehow they bring the character back in a new TV series or a series of stand alone movies, now that his character has a new career path at the end of the film.
I shall rate this action thriller a score of 8/10.
