I requested a Christmas meal for both Candy and I on the Great Ayton Facebook group as we would not be able to cook one ourselves for various reasons, we were not expecting to get anything for free as I just wanted advice as I thought Candy would have been in hospital around this time but she was not.
A number of nice villagers contacted me that they would cook a lot of food at this time of the year and offered to give us a free meal as we need to look after each other as a community should.
So, this very kind lady named Elaine and her son came over this afternoon with a large box of cooked food and we just warmed it up in our oven. We thanked them and they will come over tomorrow to pick up their plates.
The food we bloody awesome and very tasty! I've not had home cooked Christmas food in years. Too be honest, I've not eaten a home made Yorkshire Pudding since my Mum was alive, which is way over 20 years ago.
It was very nice of her and we were very thankful.
