THE TROLL FOREST

The Troll Forest is a mysterious and magical forest located in the heart of a remote mountain range. It is filled with tall, ancient trees and thick, lush vegetation. The air is thick with a magical energy, and the forest is home to a variety of mysterious creatures and magical beasts. The forest is a place of great power and beauty, but also danger for those who enter without respect or caution. Encountering a Troll is a possibility, although they are generally peaceful and not malicious. Those brave enough to venture into the forest can find hidden treasures, magical artifacts, and powerful enchantments. The forest is also home to many other creatures, such as faeries, dryads, and other fey folk. Those who venture into the Troll Forest must be prepared for the unexpected, as the forest is full of surprises.
The Troll Forest could make for an interesting setting for a campaign. It could be used as a location to explore, with the party encountering magical creatures and mysterious phenomena as they traverse the forest or it could be used as a source of adventure, with the party tasked with retrieving a magical artifact or offering protection to a creature or fey folk. It could also be used as a source of danger, with the party having to brave the dangers of the forest to reach their destination or complete a quest. The possibilities are endless!

THE SWORDS OF STAVANGER

In 872CE, King Harald Fairhair gathered all of Norway on the shore of Hafrsfjord and created one Kingdom. The ensuing Battle of Hafrsfjord between Harald and the other Viking kings unified the warring clans under King Harald around 880CE.
The monument to these events are three giant bronze Viking swords called Sverd I Fjell (Swords in Rock). The hilts are replicas of Viking swords from around Norway. They represent: peace, unity and Freedom...

DEAR BORIS JOHNSON!

THE MISSUS IN THE HOSPITAL AGAIN!

Candy is still in James Cook University Hospital on Ward 5.
She went in Tuesday morning after I rang up the paramedica on Monday evening which they did not do anything, and then I rang them back up again on Tuesday morning to get them out as Candy has been ill since last Friday, when we went out into the village to shop, the first time in 5 weeks that she left the bungalow. She also ate a very dodgy chicken pie which should have been okay as she has eaten them before from Co-Op.
She has not eaten or hardly drank any liquids since Friday as she has had no appetite, nor could she actually keep anything down without throwing it back up in the toilet, including pain meds.
Anyway, her gallbladder is kicking off and hopefully the surgeons will operate on her this week, perhaps this Friday, fingers crossed. As always, I am bloody worried about her as I always do, as I still love and care about her, even if she does not feel the same about me, which does really hurt, but that’s a whole different story.
I am trying to survive being alone here in this bungalow, but physically I can’t do a lot of stuff, like cook food, wash up plates, etc. it is a bloody struggle for me.
I don’t think the clutter in this place helps, but also I don’t have the strength to pick up the frying pan, plates, etc due to my weak arms.
I am hungry, I am cold, and I am worried like heck.
And more importantly, I really miss Candy.

MONTERIGGIONI

Monteriggioni is a medieval walled town, perched on a natural hill, built by the Sienese in 1214-1919 as a front line in their wars against Florence, taking command of the Via Cassia that passes through the Val d'Elsa and Val Staggia to the west. During the conflict between Siena and Florence in the Middle Ages, the city was strategically placed as a defense structure. It also withstood many attacks from both the Florentines and the troops of the Bishop of Volterra.

I LIKE TO CALL THEM SHADOW SPRITES

There is a silent darkness that is attached to witchcraft and a subject that is very seldom talked about within the witchcraft community, seen by few and dismissed my many, known commonly as shadow creatures.
These dark lifeless figures are often seen within the shadows, usually in an open door way or corridor just watching you while you sleep. You may also know them as either watchers or guardians.
It has been said that within the pages of the Opera Omnia written in 1599-1668 is a text that talks about these shadows creatures in one of its eight volumes and that these shadows creatures protect certain witches and that all demons fear these shadows creatures and their power. When a witch is protected by a shadow creature that witch cannot be attacked by demons or other evil supernatural entities. This is said to be true for the living world as well as for the afterlife. As a result, shadows creatures exist in the area between light and darkness - between good and evil just like a True witch.
Medieval texts speak of another entity of neutrality which is neither good nor evil, known by the name of Il Separatio it is not a classed as a shadow creature and this entity actually has no direct connection to the shadows they are however normally seen at the corner of the eye, pass by quickly, and then disappear.

SPIRAL

Last night, I watched this horror movie on Netflix.
It is the latest instalment in the Saw franchise.
The film stars Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson.
The film is very gory which you expect from the Saw films, and the focus is on a group of Police Officers facing a copycat killer.
It is a very enjoyable movie and I did not figure out who the killer was, which I liked.
I admit, I've not seen all the Saw movies, but I might give the whole franchise a chance now.
I shall rate this film a score of 7/10.

THE KIDS ARE BACK IN TOWN!

Here they are, the gang's cameo in the new D&D movie.

IN & OUT

Last night, I watched this comedy film "In & Out" on Amazon Prime.
I have only ever seen this movie once when it first came out at the cinema in 1997.
I found it very funny back then, and I still find it funny even now, despite the cliches of Gay people that were portrayed in the film. There is no way that this movie can be remade in this day and age and I am glad, leave these classic films alone!
Kevin Kline is one of my favourite actors anyway and the whole cast did brilliantly in their roles.
I shall rate this flick a score of 8/10.

CAN YOU SEE ME?

CAN YOU SEE ME? You like to think of yourself as a nice person, but you get stressed, like we all do, and that gets worse when you’re hungry and tired and sometimes you say or do things that you wouldn’t if all was well in your world, or you had that moment to think before your mouth spoke. That was how you were when you came out of a shop, looking on your phone at your work email even though it was well into the evening, and you nearly fell over a man who was sat in a corner of the doorway, blackened cardboard underneath him, a dozen layers of clothes on. He looks up at you, and his bright green eyes stand out against the outdoor tan and the ingrained dirt in the lines of his face. “Did you not see me?” he said, and that is where another time you might have said sorry, no, apologised for nearly walking over him, perhaps given him some money or gone back into the shop for a sandwich. But this time you are tired and hungry and apprehensive about everything and you don’t think, just snap, “No, I didn’t see you, and you have no right to be there.” By the time you get home, you regret this, and feel bad about saying it, but there’s nothing you can do about it, and by the time you’ve eaten you’ve mostly forgotten it. The next day at work you’re searching through a stock photography site for an image to use in a newsletter, and the first hit on ‘man at desk’ is the same man, shaven and clean, sitting behind a white desk in a pale blue shirt and red tie, holding a mouse with one hand, and looking at his laptop, which doesn’t appear to be connected to anything. You have a horrible feeling that if you keep looking, even though it’s just a photo he will turn his head and look at you. The newsletter goes out with some clip-art of a desk, nothing else. On the way home you’re sat on the train and pull your phone out to pass the journey and look busy so no one talks to you. But then you drop it on the floor, and as everyone else looks at you while pretending not to look at you, you scoop it up and shove it into a pocket, feeling all the journey as if it’s burning you. When you took it out and the lock screen lit up, there he was. Not aggressive or angry, just stood in a park, a little way away, staring at you. It’s a few hours until you dare look again, and when you do the lock-screen picture is your dog, muddy and grinning, just like it has been for a year. Over the next week he appears in a crowd scene on a Netflix drama set in New York, in with other people on a charity fundraising poster, all stumbling across a finish line in t-shirts and shorts looking exhausted, the only one looking up at the camera is him. He’s modelling trousers in a Boden catalogue and eating fried chicken on a flyer posted through your door and he’s stood behind your friends in a photo one of them shares on Facebook post, and he walks past the window of a colleague who’s working from home and calling in to the office on Teams. At the end of the week, you have hardly slept and you can’t face speaking to any of your friends. You scuttle out of the house for another few bottles of wine to get through the day, and as you turn a corner, there he is. Just standing there. “Do you see me?” he says, in a very ordinary voice. “I see you,” you reply. “I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.” He nods and walks away, and you never see him again, on the street on in a picture or in a film, or anywhere but in your memory, and from that he cannot ever disappear.

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!

LEPREACHAUNS

Leprechauns are considered part of the fairy family, and descendants of Tuatha Dรฉ Dannan (‘Peoples / Tribes of the Goddess Dana / Danu’).
Sadly, some surmise that leprechauns are the unwanted/deformed children of fairies and have been abandoned.

SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!

St Patrick's Day - a very very bizarre celebration indeed. A British and Roman priest who attempted to annihilate the Druids,
<>conducted exorcisms to banish the great Irish faery deity Aine, who told lies about the faery, who claimed he threw Pagan women who would not convert into the ocean and they became mermaids, who "drove out the snakes" (the Pagan ways) and attempted to turn the great bright god Lugh into Lugh-chromain (Little stooping Lugh) which would become "lephrecaun". I adore the Irish. I revere Ireland. I have that old blood singing within my veins. But this day is a day to celebrate the survival of the Old Ways despite what this "Saint"
<>represented and the cruel action he took. Today, I wear the green, for the fae, for the Old Ways, for the shining ones and the deep love of the land. Blessings to you all my friends. A blessing on the survival of the old ways, and of the Truth emerging from the distortions of history. )O(

THE FAT VAMPIRE

Stories of fat vampires are not new. These creatures were called pishtacos and are a classic Peruvian legend. They are known to stalk the night on deserted roads and use their magic to rob travelers of their fat. Recently, the legend has resurfaced due to actual arrests of gang members in Peru who are purported to have been bonking unruly travelers on the head, then taking them to a safe house and rendering them into fat to sell on the black market. Some estimates say that as many as 60 people fell prey to these gangsters before they were caught.
Of course, some question the official story, partly because most of the attributed murders have not been proven, but mostly because they have trouble believing that there’s any kind of market for human fat. It was also considered strange that these men had no interest in selling any of the other, more valuable body parts. Perhaps the answer lies in the legend itself. The pishtacos would not have any interest in other organs, and selling the rendered human fat would be a good cover for their true operation—feeding on the fat of the living so they can sustain their undead immortal existence.

WE HAVE A GHOST

Last night, I watched this supernatural horror comedy film on Netflix.
It was really good, but it was advertised wrong as it was not really a comedy film, but more of a supernatural drama with only a few and I mean a few funny moments in the whole film.
The movie was both very sad and sweet in certain parts but it does show how the living can be extremely stupid, cruel, and greedy, especially the authorities of the CIA.
Jennifer Coolidge was a delight in her short cameo role and she was the only funny part of the film.
David Harbour as the ghost was really good in what he was given in a non-speaking role, he acted through the use of his eye expressions and facial looks/nods.
The young kid who befriends the ghost was a good actor, whom I've never seen in any other production before, but he did a good job.
Anthony Mackie as the father was a bit of an arse throughout the film and only really redeemed himself close to the end.
There was one sequence in the film, that in real life would have resulted in the death of the young kid by the chasing redneck police officers. He would have been shot for just being a black kid in the wrong neighbourhood. But that's America for you!
Overall, a decent acted supernatural movie with heart, but my only complaint is that it felt too long and they could have easily shortened the film.
I shall rate this film a score of 8/10.
